The diverter valve allows you to control which fire hose you'd like to activate with an easy flip of the handle. This is beneficial to quickly protect more of your property.
Without it, it's much harder to maneuver a single fire hose down an entirely different direction of your property (especially when it's heavy and full of water).
Note: There will be a significant drop in pressure and loss of performance by flipping the handle to the position that activates both fire hoses at the same time. We do not recommend purchasing this add-on for this purpose.
